What is identity Theft? -A fraudulent acquisition and use of a person's private identifying information. Example: Someone that steals another persons information to gain money or power.
Here is how it works
If you do fall victim, don't worry follow these steps and act fast! Contact authorities
Government agencies- FBI
-855-835-5324. Contact credit card company or credit reporting bureaus
Have proof to show you are you
- Drivers licence, State ID, Social Security
Show what was stolen
- Bank records, Credit card statements
Lock all accounts
- Bank account, Social media, Emails
What Types of Theft are there?
Credit Card Fraud
- Using someone else's credit card without permission
Bank/Government Fraud
- Filing for taxes/ impersonating someone at a bank
Loan Fraud
Employment Fraud
- Working while using another name(on a computer)
